Music 2019

These are from some of the gigs I went to in 2019. The first one is from Neil Finn at St George's back in January 2019 - genuinely one of the best shows I've ever been to. It was him, sons Liam & Elroy and his wife Sharon. Fantastic songs (especially the Crowded House stuff, obviously) and such an intimate venue. Then a couple from Little Steven & The Disciples of Soul at the O2 Academy - I've never seen so many people on that stage! This one was an absolute blast, and bloody loud! The rest are from Muse at Ashton Gate stadium - spectacular! Toyah

I went to see Toyah in concert the other day, playing at The Fleece in Bristol. "Anthem" was the second album I ever bought, back in 1981, but I've never see her play live before. It's sort of hard to describe his music, they're often really nice gentle love songs but with searing guitar solos and occasional interludes of fantastic guitar and bass noise. One of the better gigs I've been to, and even better because it was a pleasant surprise. Thanks to the really rather good Ents24 website, I was very on the ball with regard to tickets, and we were in the middle of the front row of the balcony - a great view. So I took the little compact and took a few photos - I don't think Richard Hawley really...
