Bristol Naked Bike Ride 2013

Saturday was the 2013 Bristol Naked Bike Ride, the second time I've taken part. It was an absolute hoot again, even if the first half hour took place in gentle and then torrential rain. Shortly after the heaviest rain, the sun came out, and fortunately stayed out. It's a good job skin dries easily! Look out for a WNBR (World Naked Bike Ride) event in your area next year! Don't view the images if you're very easily offended as they contain a lot of full frontal nudity....

South Lodge Garden

On Sunday we visited South Lodge Garden in Clearwell, Gloucestershire - they are part of the National Gardens Scheme but opened specially for a clothes-optional visit organised by a local naturist group. And what a lovely garden it was, helped of course by it being a warm sunny day. Keep an eye out for their open days - well worth a visit, clothed or not....

Old Sarum

On Friday, I had a day off and we headed out to Old Sarum, just outside Salisbury - site of an Iron Age fort/castle. I'd seen it on TV a couple of years ago and it looked fascinating. It was actually pretty interesting, and an absolute bargain at £3.90 to get in - free if you're an English Heritage member. Having been National Trust members for a few years, we are considering jumping ship to EH for a change. ...

Butterfly World

A couple of weekends ago I took a trip up to Butterfly World near St Albans - a butterfly conservation centre. And it was another clothes-optional thing, which was nice. They have a number of small gardens, each designed by different people, some of which were rather good, plus a butterfly house and an ant house. The main learning from the day was that I need a new macro lens - the £100 Cosina one I bought 10+ years ago isn't very good. Oh, and that photographing ants is bloody difficult! ...
