Toyah

I went to see Toyah in concert the other day, playing at The Fleece in Bristol. "Anthem" was the second album I ever bought, back in 1981, but I've never see her play live before. I was in two minds about whether to go but a couple of colleagues saw her last year and said she was really good - and they were right, it was an excellent show. I took a some photos, just with the compact camera, some of which came out pretty well. I reckon I could have taken some pretty good shots with the SLR but venues don't like you using them. I also took some of one of the support acts (Alexa de Strange) as their guitarist was throwing some rock and roll shapes in front of me. ...

Au naturel

Back in July I went on my first naturist holiday - a week's camping down in Cornwall. Each year British Naturism organise "Nudefest", taking over a decent sized campsite (Newperran, near Perranporth) and making it naturist for the week. I've only ever camped for a night or two so was a little apprehensive about it - until it transpired that it would be in the middle of a heatwave. Over the course of the week, we had complete wall-to-wall sunshine from dawn to dusk, every day - just a bit of fog on the last morning. Tattoos, part 1

Next up in the backlog we have some tattoos - a friend of ours is getting quite a substantial one done and wanted some shots of it in development as well as when it's done. I know they're not to everyone's taste, but when they're creative and done well (as they are here) they can be really interesting. Unusually, this is being done in the pointillism style, by an artist in Bath. Part 2 will obviously come when it's completed - actually, it has been finished but needs to settle down a bit before we do the photos....

Bristol Naked Bike Ride 2013

Saturday was the 2013 Bristol Naked Bike Ride, the second time I've taken part. It was an absolute hoot again, even if the first half hour took place in gentle and then torrential rain. Shortly after the heaviest rain, the sun came out, and fortunately stayed out. It's a good job skin dries easily! Look out for a WNBR (World Naked Bike Ride) event in your area next year! Don't view the images if you're very easily offended as they contain a lot of full frontal nudity....
